Program Overview

This intensive six-session training program is designed to equip and empower small business owners and contractors with the tools, confidence, and strategies needed to successfully respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and develop clear, compelling, and competitive proposals.

  1. Session 1 | Procurement Essentials - March 3, 2026 - In Person – West Palm Beach City Hall, Flagler Gallery 401 Clematis Street, West Palm Beach, FL 33401

    1. Gain valuable insight into the procurement and RFP processes of the City of West Palm Beach and its Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA). Learn how opportunities are structured, evaluated, and awarded—and how to position your business effectively from the start.

  2. Session 2 | RFP Analysis March 10, 2026 - Via Zoom

    1. Learn how to break down RFPs, identify key requirements, evaluate fit, and develop a strategic response plan that aligns with agency expectations.

  3. Session 3 | Enhance Your Writing March 17, 2026 - Via Zoom

    1. Strengthen your business and proposal writing skills to create clear, persuasive, and well-organized RFP responses. - RFP development homework will be assigned. We will not meet on 3/24 to allow time for you to prepare your proposals. Next meeting will be in person on 3/31 at 6pm. See below.

  4. Session 4 | Presentation Mastery March 31, 2026 - In Person - West Palm Beach City Hall, Flagler Gallery 401 Clematis Street, West Palm Beach, FL 33401

    1. Learn how to create and submit compelling RFP presentations. Participants will receive constructive feedback from experienced business owners and procurement professionals.

  5. Session 5 | Public Speaking Skills April 7, 2026 - Via Zoom

    1. Build confidence and polish your public speaking and presentation delivery skills, with techniques to communicate your value clearly and professionally.

Hosted by the City’s Economic Development Services Department, this workshop supports women at every stage of business — from startup to expansion.

  4. May 19, 2026 ( via Zoom) - Session 4: Proposal Finalization and Compelling Presentation Skills - Finalize proposals for submission to Evaluators; Create compelling presentations using tools like PowerPoint.

  5. May 26, 2026 (In Person) - Session 5: Receive Evaluators feedback and Public Speaking Skills - Receive expert evaluators’ feedback; build confidence in public speaking and presentation delivery.

  6. June 2, 2026 (In person) - Session 6: Business Pitch Competition & Graduation Celebration - Deliver your pitch, receive expert feedback, and celebrate your achievements.
